Different areas of daily life, from birth to death and complex survival strategies of the highly mobile societies are shown in an exciting and vivid way. Interested readers can look forward to spectacular and internationally recognised finds and findings, such as the baby burials from Krems-Wachtberg, the Ice Age refrigerator from Kammern-Grubgraben or the mammoth remains from a wine cellar in Gobelsburg-Rossgraben. This volume brings to life times long past and gives an impression of the intensive archaeological research carried out by the team of the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAI) at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW).
